RTS Link
The RTS Link Project entails a railway shuttle spanning approximately 4km, connecting two stations: one in Bukit Chagar, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and the other in Woodlands, Singapore.
This modern Light Rail Transit (LRT) system is designed to offer a high-capacity, swift, and efficient transportation solution between the two stations.
Integrated with the public transport networks at both terminals, the link serves as an alternative mode of transportation, aimed at easing congestion at immigration checkpoints for both Malaysia and Singapore.
With a capacity to accommodate 10,000 passengers per hour in each direction, the RTS Link anticipates an initial ridership of around 40,000 passengers daily upon its commencement.
The Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities of Singapore and Malaysia will be conveniently situated together at the Woodlands North and Bukit Chagar stations. This arrangement allows passengers to complete immigration clearance at their departure point, streamlining their travel experience.
With the passenger service of the RTS Link scheduled to commence by the end of 2026, it will notably enhance connectivity between Singapore and Johor Bahru. Moreover, it is expected to alleviate congestion along the Causeway, offering a more efficient transportation option for travelers between the two countries.
